Safe & Responsible Play

Responsible Gambling

Gambling should always be an enjoyable form of entertainment — nothing more. Semarjitu is committed to providing every Malaysian player with the tools, information, and support needed to keep it that way. This page outlines our 21+ age policy, the practical controls available in your account, and where to seek independent support if you ever feel that gambling is affecting your life.

21+

For players aged 21 and above only

Underage gambling is strictly prohibited and enforced on semarjitu

Play Within Your Means

Set your limits before you play, not after. Our tools are always available in your account settings.

Gambling Is Entertainment — Keep It That Way

Most people who enjoy online casino games and sports betting on semarjitu do so without any problems — they set a budget, have fun watching their favourite EPL fixture or Liga Super Malaysia match, and treat any winnings as a pleasant bonus. That is exactly the experience we want every one of our 850,000+ Malaysian members to have, every time they log in.

But we also know that for a small number of players, gambling can shift from a leisure activity into a compulsive behaviour that damages finances, relationships, and wellbeing. This is a recognised condition — not a character flaw — and it can affect anyone regardless of background, whether you are in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, or anywhere else in Malaysia.

Responsible gambling does not mean gambling less. It means gambling in a way that is consciously controlled — with clear spending limits, time awareness, and the ability to stop when it stops being fun.

Semarjitu takes this responsibility seriously. Our responsible gambling framework is not a legal checkbox — it is an active, ongoing commitment that influences how we design our platform, how we train our support staff, and how we respond when a member reaches out for help.

On this page you will find a complete overview of the protective tools built into your semarjitu account, guidance on how to identify problem gambling behaviours early, and a list of independent support organisations available to Malaysian users. We encourage every player to read through this information whether or not they currently feel their gambling is a concern.

Is Your Gambling Under Control?

Ask yourself these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to two or more, we encourage you to use our responsible gambling tools or contact a support organisation.

1
Do you spend more money on gambling than you originally planned to?
2
Do you find yourself gambling to recover losses from previous sessions?
3
Have you borrowed money or sold possessions to fund your gambling?
4
Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down on gambling?
5
Has gambling affected your work, studies, or relationships with family or friends?
6
Do you conceal or lie about the amount of time or money you spend gambling?
7
Do you continue gambling even when you know you cannot afford to lose?

If you answered yes to any of the above, please consider using our self-exclusion tool or contacting Talian Kasih (15999) for confidential support. There is no shame in asking for help.

Responsible Gambling Controls in Your Account

Every one of these tools is available directly in your semarjitu account settings. They are free to activate, take effect immediately (or with the mandatory cooling-off period noted), and cannot be circumvented.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount per day, week, or month. Once set, the limit is enforced immediately. Reducing a limit takes effect at once; increasing a limit requires a 7-day cooling-off period before it becomes active — giving you time to reconsider.

Loss Limits

Cap the total amount you can lose across daily, weekly, or monthly periods. When your loss threshold is reached, further real-money play is suspended for the remainder of that period. Same cooling-off rules apply to any increase requests.

Session Time Reminders

Set a session duration after which the platform displays a reminder notification prompting you to review how long you have been playing. You remain in control — the reminder is informational, not a forced logout.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a short break from gambling without committing to a full self-exclusion. Cooling-off periods of 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days are available. During this period, your account remains accessible for other purposes but deposits and game play are suspended.

Self-Exclusion

Voluntarily exclude yourself from the platform for 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, 1 year, or permanently. Semarjitu will not send you any marketing communications during self-exclusion. Permanent exclusion cannot be reversed under any circumstances.

Reality Check

Enable pop-up notifications at regular intervals (every 30, 60, or 90 minutes) that display how long you have been playing and your net win/loss figure for the current session — keeping you grounded in reality during play.

How Our Limit System Works

Semarjitu's limit system is designed around a key principle: it should always be easier to reduce a limit than to increase one. This asymmetry is intentional — it protects players from impulsive decisions made during a losing streak or a high-adrenaline session.

All limit types follow the same rule: reductions take effect immediately, increases require a mandatory 7-day waiting period. This gives your decision time to breathe before it changes your playing conditions.

If you want to set a limit, log into your account, navigate to the Responsible Gambling section of your account settings, and select the relevant limit type. If you have difficulty finding the settings or need assistance, contact our support team via live chat and they will walk you through it — in English, Bahasa Melayu, or Mandarin.

How to Self-Exclude from Semarjitu

Self-exclusion is the most powerful protective tool available. Here is how to activate it in four straightforward steps.

1
Log Into Your Account

Sign in to your semarjitu account using your registered username and password. If you have forgotten your credentials, use the account recovery option on the login screen.

2
Navigate to Responsible Gambling Settings

Open your account menu, select "Account Settings", then choose the "Responsible Gambling" tab. All limit and exclusion controls are grouped here for easy access.

3
Select Self-Exclusion and Choose a Duration

Click "Self-Exclusion", choose your preferred exclusion period (30 days through to permanent), and confirm your selection. The exclusion takes effect immediately upon confirmation.

4
Alternatively, Contact Our Support Team

If you cannot access your account or prefer to speak with someone, contact our 24/7 live chat support team and ask them to activate self-exclusion on your behalf. We will action it immediately, no questions asked.

Once permanent self-exclusion is activated, it cannot be reversed. You will not receive any marketing communications from semarjitu and your account will not be reopened under any circumstances.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling rarely appears all at once. It typically develops gradually. Recognising these early warning signs — in yourself or someone you care about — can make a significant difference.

Chasing Losses

Continuing to play specifically to win back money already lost — regardless of the original session budget.

Extended Sessions

Playing far longer than intended, losing track of time, and prioritising gambling over meals, sleep, or daily responsibilities.

Social Withdrawal

Pulling back from friends, family, or professional commitments in Kuala Lumpur or elsewhere to spend more time gambling.

Secrecy and Lies

Hiding the amount of time or money spent on gambling from family members or close friends due to embarrassment or fear.

Financial Strain

Borrowing money, depleting savings, or struggling to meet essential expenses like rent and utilities because of gambling losses.

Mood Dependency

Using gambling as a primary way to cope with stress, anxiety, depression, or boredom rather than as an occasional leisure activity.

Failed Attempts to Stop

Making repeated commitments to reduce or stop gambling entirely, but finding it difficult or impossible to follow through on those commitments.

Escalating Stakes

Needing to bet increasingly larger amounts of money in order to achieve the same sense of excitement or adrenaline from gambling.

Strictly 21 and Above — No Exceptions

Semarjitu enforces a strict minimum age of 21 years for all gaming and betting activities on the platform. This policy applies to all users regardless of location within Malaysia, whether you are in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Shah Alam, or Petaling Jaya.

Age verification is conducted at two stages: a self-declaration during account registration, and a mandatory KYC document check prior to the processing of any withdrawal. Verification documents accepted include the Malaysian MyKad, valid passport, or driver's licence.

Any account where the registered holder is found to be under the age of 21 will be closed immediately, all pending transactions will be cancelled, and the matter will be escalated in accordance with our licensing obligations. We do not issue exceptions to this policy under any circumstances.

If you are a parent or guardian concerned that a minor may be accessing gambling platforms, consider using parental control software to restrict access to online gambling sites. Additionally, please never share your semarjitu account credentials with anyone — including family members.

Safe Gambling Guidelines

Set a budget before you start

Decide in advance how much you can comfortably afford to lose — then stick to it. Use our deposit limit tool to enforce this automatically.

Treat losses as the cost of entertainment

Never gamble with money you need for essentials like rent, food, or bills. Money wagered is money spent on entertainment — like a cinema ticket, not an investment.

Never chase losses

If you have reached your budget for the session, stop. Increasing your bets or depositing more to recover losses is the most common path to problem gambling.

Balance gambling with other activities

Gambling should be one of many leisure activities in your life, not the primary one. Maintain healthy social connections and interests outside the platform.

Never gamble under emotional distress

Avoid gambling when you are stressed, angry, upset, or have been drinking. Emotional states impair judgement and lead to riskier decisions.

Play Safely with Semarjitu
